Book Review- The Informed Investor

Labels:

I have been reading this book for the past few days whenever I can grab some free time to relax and to learn new investing methods.

While the major things in the book are not really new to me, the author manages to put things across in a way that the layman will understand. At the same time, he manages to persuade me to relook and rethink portfolio investment into different classes of investments and also revise the risks theories discussed in my economics classes a long time ago. I have gotten somewhat rusty in all of these. Missed those International Economics and Financial Economics classes in University of Melbourne :)

The author manages to present in a very organised and lucid way what a rational and effective approach to investment should be and addresses a lot of the key debates in investment- passive versus active investing, value investing versus growth investing etc. If you are interested in having a comfortable retirement and attaining financial freedom, this is a book you have to take a look.
