Equity Funds For Just 0.75%

Labels:

Went to the POEMS site and they had a banner advertising their unit trust and index funds for just 0.75%.

You can find the list of participating funds at the POEMS eUnitTrust page. The promotion is from 5 May 2010 to 30 June 2010. So if you are looking for funds to buy, it is a good opportunity. Especially since the market has tanked a bit so the unit prices are lower too.

Also the POEMS site sells more unit trusts than banks as the banks won’t sell unit trusts offered by their direct competitors. So you get DBS, OCBC’s Lion and UOB all under one roof. I went to copy and paste all the funds to an excel sheet and counted 337 funds on promotion. So go get some if you are planning to do so anyway.

In case you are wondering, I don’t get a cut from POEMS. But my first job was there.

I remember that the unit trust funds were having sales charge of 3-5% when I was in the industry. At $10,000 per investment, that is $300-$500. At 0.75%, it is just $75. That’s quite a steep discount.

It seems that a price war has broken out. At the end of last year, quite a few banks were advertising 1% sales charge.

Bad for the Big Bad Banks, good for us mere mortals.
